Is JD's licensed and insured in Indiana?
Yes. JD's Heating and Air Conditioning is fully licensed, bonded, and insured to perform HVAC work in the state of Indiana. All technicians are certified and trained on current equipment and safety protocols.
What makes JD's different from other HVAC companies?

Repairs & Service Calls

How quickly can JD's respond to an HVAC emergency?
JD's offers 24/7 emergency service. In most cases, we can have a certified technician at your home or property within a few hours of your call. Same-day service is available for non-emergency calls as well — because waiting isn't comfort.
Do you charge a diagnostic fee for service calls?
We charge a standard diagnostic fee for service calls, which covers the technician's time to identify the issue and provide a written quote. If you proceed with the repair, that diagnostic fee is typically credited toward the cost of the repair.
What should I do if my AC stops working in the summer?
First, check your thermostat settings and make sure your air filter isn't completely clogged — both are common culprits. If those check out, call JD's at (317) 413-9303. We'll get a technician to you as fast as possible, often the same day.
Can JD's repair a system that's still under manufacturer warranty?
Yes. As a Trane Comfort Specialist authorized dealer, we can perform warranty repairs on Trane equipment. For other brands, we can repair the system — just check with the original manufacturer about your warranty terms before we begin.
Do you service all brands, or only the ones you install?
We service all major brands. If it heats or cools, there's a good chance we've worked on it. Our technicians are trained across a wide range of residential and commercial HVAC equipment.

New System Installations

How do I know when it's time to replace my HVAC system?
General signs include: the system is more than 15 years old, repair costs are exceeding 50% of replacement cost, energy bills are noticeably higher without explanation, or the system struggles to maintain temperature. We're always honest about whether a repair or replacement makes more financial sense for your situation.
How long does a new system installation take?
Most standard residential installations take one day. Larger or more complex jobs — including ductwork modifications or multi-zone systems — may take two days. We'll give you a clear timeline before we start, and we don't leave until the job is complete and you're satisfied.
How do I know what size system I need for my home?
We perform a proper load calculation based on your home's square footage, insulation, windows, ceiling height, and other factors. Never let anyone size a system by simply replacing your old unit with the same size — it may have been wrong to begin with. Proper sizing is the single most important factor in system performance and efficiency.
Can I get a free estimate for a new installation?
Yes. JD's provides free estimates for new system installations and replacements. Contact us by phone or through our online form and we'll schedule a convenient time to come out and assess your home.
What warranty comes with a new Trane system installed by JD's?
Trane systems installed by JD's as an authorized Comfort Specialist dealer come with up to 12 years of limited parts warranty when registered. We handle all the registration paperwork for you so you don't have to think about it.

Preventive Maintenance

How often should I have my HVAC system serviced?
We recommend a tune-up twice a year — once in the spring before cooling season and once in the fall before heating season. At minimum, have it serviced once per year. Regular maintenance extends equipment life, maintains efficiency, and helps you catch small problems before they become expensive ones.
What's included in a JD's maintenance tune-up?
Our 21-point tune-up covers: coil cleaning, refrigerant level check, electrical connection inspection and tightening, thermostat calibration, blower motor and belt check, air filter inspection, safety controls test, and a full written system report. You'll know the state of your equipment after every visit.
Does JD's offer maintenance plans or service contracts?

How does JD's pricing work?
We use flat-rate, upfront pricing. Before any work begins, you'll receive a written quote that tells you exactly what it costs. No hourly surprises. No invoices that don't match what was quoted. You approve the work, then we do it.
Does JD's offer financing?
Financing options are available for qualifying customers on new system installations. Ask your technician or contact our office to learn about current financing programs and terms.
Are estimates really free?
Free estimates are available for new system installations and replacements. For service or repair calls, a standard diagnostic fee applies — which is credited toward the cost of any repair you authorize.
What payment methods does JD's accept?
We accept all major credit cards, check, and cash. Financing is also available for qualifying equipment purchases.

Does JD's work with property managers and landlords?
Absolutely. We work with residential property managers, apartment communities, commercial building owners, and real estate investors throughout Central Indiana. We offer priority scheduling, preventive maintenance contracts, and dedicated account support.
Can JD's service multiple units or buildings at the same time?
Yes. We can coordinate multi-unit service visits and have the staffing to handle large property portfolios. Just tell us what you need and we'll build a service plan that works for your schedule and your tenants.
What type of commercial HVAC equipment does JD's service?
